Project Challenges

To address water and nutrition challenges in Tsholotsho, CNFA engaged Forster Irrigation to install a solar-powered water system. The system provides water for household use, livestock, and supports a 1ha community garden.

The Forster Irrigation Solution

Forster Irrigation installed four boreholes in Tsholotsho District, all within an 80km radius. Each site was fitted with a 10,000L JoJo tank on a 3m stand, a 6-panel solar system on a triple pole stand, a community water point, and a livestock drinking point. The solar units were secured with 1.8m diamond mesh fencing, while the community water points had 1m fencing. Each system also supports a 1ha nutrition garden.
